Over Memorial Day weekend CVU Blue G99 (CVU Crush) participated in the 2009 CVU Tournament of Champions, their first tournament together as a newly formed team.

The team entered the tournament with two main goals: to gain experience on the pitch together as a team and to have lots of fun. The girls achieved those goals and more.

CVU Crush started the tournament with a well played 3-1 win over Real So Cal and followed that game with another strong performance against SVSC Eclipse, winning the second game 2-0.

On Sunday morning they faced a tough Westside Breakers team. It was a hard fought battle from the opening kick off to the final whistle, but CVU emerged with a hard earned 2-1 victory.

CVU found themselves in the Championship game on Sunday afternoon facing a Westside Breakers team that was looking forward to the rematch. CVU came to play and put in a brilliant effort, the girls left the fields as Champions after a resounding 5-1 win.

The goals were to play, have fun and gain experince together as a team. Ending the tournament as Champions was just icing on the cake. Way to go CVU!
